Time Change Problems

26 Mar

So the time change has officially started to kick my butt.  We changed our clocks here early Sunday morning, forcing me to lose an hour of sleep…which was fine yesterday but I can totally feel it today!

This morning I had set my alarm clock for 6:15am but I was so exhausted that I let myself sleep for another 15 minutes…I’m so good at spoiling myself!  Getting ready seemed long and tedious, and when it was time to wake the Princess up, she didn’t wanna wake up either!  Seems like we’re two peas in a pod!

However, on mornings when she is exhausted, she listens really well, which made my morning a thousand times easier even though it was still pitch black outside, unlike last week when we would wake up and the sun would be shining through the kitchen window!  Those were the good old days….

I grabbed a tall cup of hot chocolate (I need to go buy my favourite caffeine-packed tea this evening!) and a bowl of Miel Pops (or Corn Pops, as it’s better know to us English-speakers) and started my morning off right.  Weirdly enough, I picked out an outfit for the Princess that pretty much looked exactly like the one I was wearing, except she had a grey sweater instead of a white cardigan. I didn’t even do it on purpose either!  Her room is a disaster and I keep putting of cleaning it…I think I’ll do it tomorrow, after that long run that I plan to go on (but probably won’t..shhh!).

Once she was off to school, I headed to school myself where I found out that our normal teacher was away because she was getting married/on her honeymoon!  How sweet is that?!  Our supply for the week was super nice and she had us working on election terminology, and how to debate in French (ie. ways to formulate the sentence, what words to use to intensify your opinion, etc.) and we had some mini-debates and it was fun!

My friend, Catharina, was sick today, so instead of shopping or sitting in the park, soaking up the sun after school, I headed home, making sure to call my mom and sister along the way to chat for a bit!  My sister only has about 5 weeks left before her baby comes and I’m so, so, so excited! I should probably go buy more and more and more outfits for her and then MAYBE they will make it back to Canada on time….but delivering a parcel in 5 weeks is giving credit to the French Postal system.  Everything seems to move sloooooooowly here.

So for now, it’s time to catch up on blogs, check emails, Facebook, and Twitter, and relax for the rest of the afternoon….until the Monster Princess needs to be picked up from trampoline.

Have a great afternoon!
